I can’t believe it is the last day of August – already.

Things are running way too fast and this week is crazy busy, both at work and at home. (More updates on these later).

Look at this, the leaves are turning golden in our neighborhood – already! And I don't think we even got more than a week of real summer hot days, not that I'm complaining...How's your summer been?

Oh, and I found out last week that I won a giveaway from BluLabel Bungalow ; I am beyond ecstatic, thanks Erika! She is a super woman and you should totally follow her beautiful blog (if you haven't).

I'm in the market for the best and cheapest custom-made sofa slip cover

Having cats, we're always in a paranoid state of mind that they're going to sink their beautiful claws deep in the sofa (and they do!). We usually put three white coverlets over the sofa and made it work for a while. But they are not a permanent solution and we're getting tired of having to fix it up every time, like a messy bed in the morning.

So here I am, hunting for a slip cover. My husband got this gorgeous blue sofa from Harvest Home. I think they've discontinued this one though, because I cannot find it anywhere online. So first thing first, I had to do some measurement.

Then, dreaming to get something like this from the chic couture line of Rachel Ashwell

with the blue ikat fabric option...

How gorgeous is that!

We went to Sonoma last Sunday to visit our dearest friends (who happened to be the witnesses for our wedding!).

Not only they get to wake up to an incredible view, they've got one of the most serene house. Even the way she put things together in her house is.... serene. There really is no other way to describe it.

Any accomplishment this weekend?

Only done a few...I just can't seem to get my hands on my sewing machine! (excuses, excuses...)

Yay, my Gluten Free White Bread turned out really good!

I used potato starch instead of the soy flour, and agave instead of honey.

Now I cannot wait to do all kinds of sandwiches this week!

How do you usually eat your bread?

Nana and David: Warm and Classy

When looking through their pictures and reading their story, I can’t help but notice the warmth that radiates from this couple. The color palette, decoration theme, even Nana’s shoes are ones that reflect comfort and love. Paired with Nana’s expert eyes for the classics {she’s a fashion design student}, they conjured up one exquisite wedding!

How did you two meet?
We met when I crashed David’s best man’s birthday party, Alex. I didn’t really know the birthday boy, but a mutual friend Deni, asked me and my friends to join. {Who can really say no to a party, right?} I met David there for the very first time.

Nothing special, not just yet.

A week later, Deni and I hung out, guess what: David was there too! We started talking and we connected effortlessly. Swoon! Things were moving smoothly from then on.

What was the design inspiration for your wedding?

We didn’t really have any design inspiration, actually :P. When we were deciding on the stage background, we were given two options: red, fuchsia, and gold, or orange, brown, and gold. The first one was way too overused these days, so we chose the latter. Plus, it just looks like the color of Hermes!! All decisions made afterwards were based on that color palette.

Favorite design element

My favorite is our invitation, made by Alex (David’s best man). Not only that he’s such an expert, he was tremendously helpful despite his busy schedule.

We also love the theme of our decoration. We created a living room ambiance, hoping that our guests would feel welcomed, relaxed, and right at home with the warm appeal that we provided.

Favorite moment on your wedding day

My favorite moment was at church when David read his vow, that he wrote on his own… Very touching :)

Tell us about the fashion: the wedding dress, the shoes, earrings, other special jewelry :)

Because I happened to have been a bridesmaid for 3 x and MOH for 3 x, I’m pretty much done browsing around all the wedding bridals in town. When it came to my turn to pick the dress, I was actually not that eager to do some shopping.

Luckily, a friend of mine introduced me to a young fashion designer friend. When I went to his place, there was this one dress that I immediately fell in love with. I asked for a custom made dress just like that one, with little tweaks to tailor it to my style, of course. It’s one of the things I crossed off my list so quickly, because I knew that was my dress!

I got my shoes at ITC {one of the malls in Jakarta}. I needed something soft and comfy. I’ve gone as far as the most expensive, famous name brand shoes, but the good ones are usually way too high, like 9 cm {around 3.5 inch}. I didn’t want to be uncomfortable, tired, and end up feeling irritable on my wedding day, so I chose a pair of super comfy shoes, no heels. They fit me so well like a second skin. Absolutely no blister and no pain, my feet weren’t complaining at all!

Then, as a final touch, I chose a classic style earrings and necklace. That’s just my style :)

What are you two looking forward in the future?

We are looking forward to have a big warm family…

I want to bring to mind something important to the future brides and grooms. It is not about the wedding itself. It’s about what happens after the wedding. There are many couples who sometimes break off their engagements just because they get caught up in the wedding preparation.

I admit that one day of your wedding is an extremely important day. But the days come after that, is the most important ones. Not worth it if you have to fight over your wedding day, really :)
